Lyme SymptomsA Lyme disease prognosis is treated by conventional medicine through rigorous antibiotic therapy that, if caught early, can be a two to three week protocol. However if the diagnosis is that you have been infected for an elongated period, this protocol could last considerably longer. Integrative Med solutions (IMS) can treat Lyme disease symptoms through acupuncture and naturopathic medicine. Boosting the immune system and assisting the body in its ability to fight this infection would be the primary goal of an IMS program under the professional guidance of Dr. Lisanti.

Acupuncture: Alleviating Lyme Symptoms
The University of Maryland Medical Center states that “acupuncture could help relieve pain, reduce fatigue and increase mobility in Lyme disease of men and women.” IMS licensed acupuncturist, Dr. Lisanti, will intake your health history including your Lyme symptoms to determine the best acupuncture point approach. These points may include: Large Intestine (LI-11) located on the lateral end of the elbow crease, Spleen (SP6) on the medial lower leg just above the ankle and Stomach (ST36) outside the lower leg just below the knee.

Homeopathy: Deep Level Support
Homeopathy is a practice that has been in existence for over two hundred years. It is based on a ‘like cures like’ principal that uses natural materials which present similar symptoms to a particular ailment. For instance, if you contract poison ivy, a homeopath would give you a safe, highly diluted form of the poison ivy plant (rhus toxicodendron) to essentially ‘burn out’ the affliction. IMS uses a variety of homeopathic remedies that are professionally administered by Dr. Lisanti. In the case of Lyme disease the remedy, borellia burgdorferi (like poison ivy this remedy is derived from the Lyme disease bacteria) could be administered. Conventional medicine uses strong antibiotics that some report does not eradicate Lymes even though, depending on how long one has had it, treatment can last for upwards of six months to a year.
With homeopathy, treatment can be just as long but the results just may be more permanent.

Botanical Medicine: Classical Chinese Herbs and Other Plant Compounds for Lymes
Dr. Lisanti is trained in the safe incorporation of herb and plant compound remedies to assist and sometimes even heal various ailments. He also practices Classical Chinese Medicine, which is
derived from the purest form of traditional healing dating back thousands of years during the period of The Yellow Emperor. Depending on your particular Lyme symptoms, Dr. Lisanti may
recommend botanical medicines that possess anti-spirochete actions (spirochete is the active organism of Lymes disease) with names like: smilax, oldenlandia, artemesia, andrographis and Japanese pokeweed (Pygonum cuspaditum). Western herbs that may be included are: teasel and cat’s claw.

If you are struggling with Lyme symptoms IMS can incorporate some or all of the above mentioned remedies along with many other options.
